My First Art Journal

Good Morning all,

Last week i bought myself a Sketch book or Art journal.
I wanted to do it for a long time but i just never got to it.....and it is just another thing to add to the collection.

Inspired by "Born to crop and not to Mop"  i decided to make my first art journal page.
From what i have seen on the internet you don't have to be neat you just need to express yourself as it is your journal. I am in the learning process.

And guess what i got myself a GD spot for next month!! Woot woot!

So here is the page:

I am normally quit neat on any of my projects and i am very picky.
I can sit hours for one layout and change it again or start completely over.
So this is a change for me and i am learning........
The scrapbook page was one of those pages that i chucked in my left over box.
It's a good way to get rid of all that paper in the left over box and from what i have learned already, GESSO is the magic word. You don't like something just put some gesso on it and it will disappear.

As i was on a roll............i decided to make my 2nd page......well that took a few days.
I was reading Lizzy Hills blog and she just finished an art journal page and she entered it in the SODALICIOUS art journal challenge.  So off i went .... it took me three takes because the challenge word it Trapped. Eventually i came up with this page and my entry for the challenge

"Trapped"in the circle(s) of life.
I think we all have that once in a while, sometimes you just need to take a moment and enjoy the moment and what we have and who we have around us.

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

Thanks for stopping by,
I wish you all a great day!!

Get creative: Sketch

Good Evening all,

Sketch time at Get creative, it's already the 20th of March..... where does the time go?

So this is my take:

And this is the sketch:

The gorgeous crochet flower in the middle was a gift from "the Boss", Irini Liolia!!
Have a look at her shop:

They are soooooooooooo gorgeous and easy to use on any craft project.

The paper used for this card is from Prima Marketing, the En francais collection.
I made for little tags and placed them as the sketch.

You have until the 30th of March to upload your card.

Thanks for stopping by and sleep well!

Frosted designs: Up, Up and Away.......

Good afternoon all,

I hope you are all enjoying your sunday!
It's sunday so that is my day to show off my layout Frosted designs.
The challenge for the next two weeks is to create something with things that go up in the sky.....
Hot Air balloons, Kites, Clouds, Planes.........

This is my take on the challenge:

It's my little friend leo in a Hot Air Balloon!
The papers i used are from Scrapfab and i think their papers are fab and perfect for a boy layout.

I added some sort of netting fabric over the hot air balloon to give it a real effect.

This little chipboard is treated with paint and after i added crackle paint and glitters to give it this effect.

So you know the drill, you have two weeks to add your creations on to the Frosted designs site.
Let your creativity flow and show it to us.

I am going off to enjoy some lunch, it is a long weekend this week in Greece so i am off to go outside and to enjoy some sunshine.

Have a good day and thanks for dropping by,
Channa

Scrap Africa; Cardstock only!

Good Morning all,

It's friday and that means a new challenge at Scrap Africa.

The challenge is to use CARDSTOCK only!
No patterned paper can be used.

This is my take on the challenge:

I have used 4 different colors of cardstock:
White
Gray
Red
Black

Yes, i have used this picture before but i wanted to use it again with other colors!
It's me and my little friend ava, having fun in the mall.

The only items non cardstock are:
Chipboard letters
Buttons
and roses.

I first added the brick mask on the gray paper with modeling paste and a graffiti stamp.
On the red layer i sprayed on a chicken wire mask.
On the black and red layer i added gesso on the edges and a scallop punch.
On the picture below you can see the layers.

The rosettes and Bicycles are die cuts from the same paper.

As you can see patterned paper is not always needed in our layouts. There are so many options on how you can treat cardstock, stamp, gesso, modeling paste, mists .......
So use your stash and enter your project on the Scrap Africa Blog and pass by the blog to see what the lovely ladies have created because it is gorgeous!!!

Thank you for passing by and have a great weekend!
