Scrap africa: Sketch challenge.

Good morning all,

First i would like to share my internet frustrations:
After waiting patiently for one month, our internet provider told us that they were not able to put the new connnection in our new house. WHAT??????
Being wiithout internet for so long, it is very very frustrating and i realize that there is no live without it anymore. How did we do it 20 years ago??
So yesterday we looked for another provider, trying to get a connection before the 15th of August because if  we cant find one we are without internet for another month.
August is the holiday month for greece and most companies close for the month.........

So wish me luck!!

Anyway, here is my LO for the sketch challenge of Scrap africa.

This is the sketch:

It was a great sketch to work with. As you can see i used a picture of my lovely little friend Roan.
A real boy layout, i used paper of Bo bunny and a piece of burlap, flowers from Get creative embellishements, chipboard from Fab scraps and some other embellishements.

The flowers were a perfect match for this lo, excellent colors.
Below you can see the little tandem bike holding the hot air balloon.

Thank you for passing by and i cant wait to see what you create!!

Channa

PS; if you are wondering how i posted this LO, i am using a Vodafone stick from the middle ages and have to be like speedy gonzales in order not to get kicked out because the credit is finished.
As you can see frustration central.

Once again i appologize for not passing by to see your lovely creations and i will make it up in a month or 2 hahahahha

Tutorial Tuesday, Frosted designs.

Hello all,

I like to make tutorials with materials that we already have in our home.
So for today i will show you how to make different background textures with items that you can find in your stash or kitchen.

For today's tutorial you need:

Sugar, Sand or Sea salt.
Gesso or modelling paste
Spray ink or paint
A mask
paper
A pencil.

I will show my sample with sand!

1. Take some sand, gesso and spray paint on a plate.
As you can see my sand is pink, i had it at home as i used it for some decoration.

2. Mix them all together and this is what you get.

3. Take your mask and add the "mix".

4. Take of the mask and let it dry for 20 min, or you can use your heat tool to speed it up.
If you let it dry naturally the paper does not roll up.

5. And voilla here is a "real wall"! the sand gives a very nice effect .

Sample with sugar
It's very fine and if you use a spray to paint it will dissolve a little bit.

Sample with sand
I personally like this one the best it gives such a nice look especially
when using this brick stencil as it makes it look like a real wall.

Sample with sea salt
As you can see the texture is really rough.

And this is what i my ending result:
I used it for a background of a card.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and try it at home!
Thank you for stopping by,

Frosted designs: The great outdoors

Good evening all,

It's sunday and that means it is my day to reveal my inspiration for Frosted designs!
The challenge is to make a layout with the great outdoors??

I used a picture of my husband, that we made during easter time.
We dont like camping at all.......but we decided to do some luxery camping and stayed in a "yurt".
Which is a luxery tent with your own bathroom & living room area.
The only outdoor thing about it was that is was in the forrest.
Sorry, i am really not made for camping..........i got spoiled with some lovely hotels.

This week we will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary, on the 25th of July to be exact.

Below you can see all the little details on this layout.

I thank you all for stopping by!!
Channa

PS: I have not been able to pass by any blogs for a long time. Reason being that our internet got cut for the move to our new house and it is taking for ever to connect it to our new house.
So i am using a "stick"for mobile internet but it is not very handy... hopefully it will all be over this week.

Scrap Africa: Patch work

Good evening all,

Ok, is blogger playing up or what??? it took me hours to upload my picture on the Scrap Africa DT blog .......I did it yesterday evening but no luck..........today after a while it was done.

So anyway, we have a great challenge at Scrap Africa!

The challenge is to make a Patchwork effect background.

This is my take on the challenge:

This is an inspirational picture:

I made a card this time, i decided to use small little squares to create the patchwork background.
To accent the squares i added little pearl dots.

I added a cluster of different embellishments on top of the patchwork, flowers, a birdhouse, a ballerina dancer and a little love note in a bottle.

Well have a look at the Scrap africa blog for some wonderful inspiration.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great evening,
Channa

Frosted designs: Ribbon, Twine & Washi tape

Good afternoon again,

Today is my day to give you some inspiration for the Frosted Designs Challenge:

Ribbon, Twine & Washi tape
Use at least 2 of the above.

My take:

I altered a book box, and i used all three products.

Ribbon: on the right side to close the box
Twine: at the door lock
Washi tape: Light blue tape on the top and bottom of
the front and the little fairies on the side of the box.

Paper is from the little fairy collection of Prima marketing.
Chipboard is from Sfragidomania. I added frantage embossing enamel on the chipboard. Unfortunatly you are not able to see on the pictures the beautiful look the frantage gives.

Above you can see a little close up of the cluster in the front.
Below you are able to see the washi tape, the blue pieces of tape are hard to find on the front.
But they are there.

So off you go and create, have a look at the

For some lovely inspiration of all the talented designers.

Thank you all for passing by!
Have a great sunday.

Get Creative Card Challenge: Red Hot!

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Yes I am aware of being 2 days too late on posting my post……
Due to the move we have been experiencing some technical difficulties!
I won’t have internet until the end of July…..a change of address does not go so fast here in Greece.
With that said I also had a incident, a drink fell on top of my laptop and it was swimming.
Quickly I picked up my laptop and turned it around.
Now a few days after it is still recovering but it works.
So that was my explanation for the delay…

The challenge at get creative is to create a card with the main color red:

Little tilda is watering the flowers.
I believe it is red enough....right??

Well i wish you a good sunday, i have to do a lot of things before going to work!

Thank you for Stopping by.

Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge

Good Evening All,

Happy 1st of July, it is already month 7 of 2013!! time flies..........

Today it is time for a sketch challenge at Scrap africa!

My take:

The pictures are taken in Kefalonia at Lake Melissani, on of the Greek islands in the Ionian sea.
We went there on holiday 2 years ago and as you can see it is beautiful.

I wanted to give the layout a fisher man's look.
Below and above you can see what i did with the tulle fabric, i pulled and sprayed it many times.
I added the little shells and the little chipboards, i used fran tage on the chipboard to give it another look.
I also used it on several spots on the back ground paper.

This is the sketch, i had a lot of fun making this layout as it has a lot of different textures.

So you have until the 14th of July to add your creations!

Good luck and thank you for stopping by.
