Whats uuuup? Amsterdam.... and more news...

Good morning all,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! My husband is back home so no more sleepless nights for me, crafting away.......I have to be honest, all these days home alone has giving me a lot of inspiration.
Which was needed for several reasons....one of them being that i have been chosen to be part
of the Frosted Design team..  I will be part of the sketch along Tuesday layout team!!! Exiting!!!

This was the layout  that i entered when i applied. This picture was taken last year in December, my friend Jennifer made a stopover for a few days on her way to Scotland and we spent a day in Amsterdam.

I thought the "bike"paper fits perfect with the picture. For those who have been to Amsterdam, it is full with bicycles. It also one of the things that i really miss here in greece my bicycle!! I have become so lazy with a car.

So from next month i will make layouts for Frosted designs, 2 layouts per month. But they have several challenges throughout the month Fabulous fridays and Card challenges.  So hop over and have a look. I am looking forward to this, it is a very big team full of inspiration.

What else....ah my TCR entry for last week, which again i was late but i had some difficulties with the colors.
I redid it a couple of times...but this is what eventually came out

What's uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup?

A funny picture of my secret boyfriend roan, he is being silly in this picture.
There are a few layers in this layout ( because i redid it several times), stamping, stitching just a little bit of everything.

Well this is it for me this weekend, I wish you all a good weekend.
Thanks for stopping by,

Get creative challenge, February 15th

Good morning all,

Hope everybody had a nice valentine's day? Well we have a new
sketch up at Get creative. As you know we are sister blogs this week with Once upon a sketch.

And this is the challenge for today:

February 15th Challenge

Journalling criteria/theme: HOLIDAYS
Have you printed out all those photos from your last holiday or most favourite holiday? We would LOVE to see them and hear all about it. With the theme of holidays for this challenge, we would love to hear about:your favourite holiday of all time or a favourite place you would LOVE to holiday in . Or how about the last holiday you went to?  Maybe you have not traveled yet? Then tell us about your DREAM HOLIDAY.

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.

You must combine our journalling criteria/theme with this sketch.

This was my take on the sketch:

I know i am on the Card design team of Get creative but for myself i also wanted to make a layout for this challenge.  I used the same techniques as on my card, it's quit identical. It's sometimes hard to put everything on a small little card but I would like to go back to Hawaii one day. It's such a lovely place! Although i was working at that time, i have some great memories. That's why i also chose for the bikes on my layout because i went on a bike ride, watching the sunrise in Haleakala national park. It was early in the morning, very cold and we were wearing astronaut suits, watched the sunrise ( beautiful!) and after we biked of the mountain. Amazing view.........my husband and i both already went but on different occasions but we both say the same thing:

A Hui Hau - Until we meet again.

Good Luck with the challenges and thanks for stopping by,

Channa

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good morning all,

Happy Valentine's day!
As promised today i will reveal my crafty valentine's gift for my husband.
I made a shadow "tag"box with several pictures. Some which you have seen before on my layouts.

Because the box is kind of big, it was hard to make good pictures and together with that the weather was not working along either. Basically i made 10 different tags, with pictures and embellishments.
The top row is my husband and below me, i took pictures that we were approximately the same age.

Because there is a lot going on in the center i did not want to put too much around it, so i stamped along the border. Behind the tags i put some tissue paper, in order to break the white back ground.

Because there is a lot going on in the center i did not want to put too much around it, so i stamped along the border. Below are some close up pictures of some tiny details, some ready and some handmade embellishments.

There are two tags with out pictures, one says "remembering moments with you" which has several moments that we have had together and the other one has the lyrics of "the Love song" of The Cure. We used to listen to this song at the beginning of our relationship. If it get's to music my husband and i are two worlds apart, but trough the years we have learned to like and appreciate it.

I wish you all a loving day, surrounded with your loved ones!

Matching set

Good afternoon,

So much wonderful news have come my way this weekend.......one of them was that i am featured this week on the color room. Exiting! Thank you ladies for all your lovely comments, it makes me so happy.

My husband is still not home, the job is taking longer than he thought but that leaves me with more time...hihihi. I have prepared a crafty valentine's gift for him, and i keep looking at it because it was so nice to make but i won't share it with you yet..........you all have to wait until the 14th of February.

So this weekend i will share my entry for mojo monday 227
It is a matching set, a card and a jewelry box.

For both projects i used paper from kaiser kraft. I loved the colors of this paper, blue and brown very romantic color combination.

The card is according to the sketch and i tried to used the same things on both projects, so that it would match perfectly.

The jewelry box has different compartments on the inside, and again i used the same paper to put on the bottom of the compartments. You can see it a little bit on the picture below.

Here are just 2 little close ups of the flowers, made with tule and organza and i put some roses inside and beads on the edges.

I wish you a nice weekend, thanks for stopping by and now i will continue on with my hot chocolate and a twix, mmmmmm

This is the new year......

Good morning,

This morning i will have a layout for  Let's get shabby. They have a wonderful challenge for this month and as inspiration they have chosen for a new years song: "This is the new year "by Ian Axel. It's a very positive song for a new beginning of the year and the lyrics are very nice. So you can either create with the title and / or lyrics from the song. Have a look at their blog to get some inspiration of the DT team.

This is my entry for this challenge. I stuck with the colors of the color room, blue, pink & white. And i choose to make a round layout, that was a job. All around is stitched with lace.

Story behind the picture, it was our 1e new year together in 2003 / 2004 when we are on the ship. And i thought it fit perfectly with the song.

I used the Title and the following lyrics:

Cause in the end we have each other,
and that's at least one thing worth living for,
And i would give the world to you.

I found this blog trough mandy. Thank you for your nice comments all the way from Tasmania!

Have a good day,
Channa

Hand in hand....TCR#96

Good afternoon,

Lots and lots of time on my hand, what better to do than crafting. So i am using and abusing this time, organizing my craft room, which is going slowly but its work in progress. I just started to organize my ribbon disaster and that will be a 5 year plan but i started. But let me share my scrapbook page today, it will be my entry for this weeks color room challenge. The colors are all pastels and made me think of babies........ so i went trough my stash of baby pictures. Thank god for friends with children....very handy!

Love this picture, its so cute.

All paper used is from maja design from the flowers to the butterflies.

Well this is it for me today, time to make diner.
Have a good evening and thanks for stopping by.

Wonder story CSI#4

Good afternoon,

Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful saturday. I had a great morning, early shopping in ikea ( before the rush! ) after to the mall and some lunch with a friend. Now i am back and i wanted to share this weeks take on the CSI#4 file.

This picture was taken in the beautiful city of Prague, where i went for a girl's weekend out. Beautiful place, lots to see, very clean, lots of history and we saw it all by foot. We walked from morning till evening.......so i was taken a moment on a bench watching the beautiful scenery over the river. When looking at the picture i was wondering what i was thinking? or was it just a blank moment to enjoy the view???

Evidence used: Tulle, frame, rhinestones, and a wet medium.
I used gesso around the foto, on the fitting doll, frame and fence. On the fitting doll i place tulle to give it more of a rough effect. The flowers are made of tissue paper and the same tulle used around the foto.

On this picture you can see the texture and effect of gesso.

Color scheme:

Thank you all for stopping by and have a great weekend,
Channa

Mojo Monday 226

Good afternoon,

This is my entry for the mojo monday challenge for this week, this was the sketch:

I choose round, almost all my cards are always square.

It's a 2 in 1 card, because there is another card on the inside.

As valentine's day is coming our way i made a "love'card but not with the usual valentines colors.

Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by,
Channa
