Frosted Tutorial Sunday, Swirls!

Good Morning All,

Today is Sunday and that means it is time for a Tutorial.
I am going to show you how to make your own swirls embellishments from cardboard.
We all have toilet rolls at home that can be recycled. But you can use a kitchen roll, packaging
from a cereal box, the cardboard rolls from all that wrapping paper that
you used to wrap all your Christmas presents just check your recycling bin.

So this is what you need:

1 toilet roll
1 sheet of  thin cardboard or any packaging you can find in your recycling bin.
Glue
Scissors
a toothpick
Paint or mists ( i used dylusion spray)

1. Cut the toilet roll length wise.

2. Cut small strips of about 1/2 cm.
I cut 7 strips for this specific tutorial but you can cut as many as you want it all
depends on how many you want to use on your craft project.

3. Fold all the strips double and start curling them with a toothpick.
I will leave the curling up to you, there are many options just use your imagination.

4.  Take your cardboard sheet or box and cut one long strip of 1/2 a cm.
This will be your base where you can stick all your small curled strips on,
so you can make a border or a circle. I used tacky glue because it dries quickly and it is solid.
See below how it is suppose to look

5. Now you can paint or spray your swirl border as you wish.

And this is my ending result:

I sprayed my border with yellow dylusion spray and glued the ends together and made a circle.
And used it as a layer on top of my picture.
The options are endless, so get your toilet rolls and get creative.

On this close up picture you have a better view of how my swirl turned out.
It gives an extra dimension to your layout and it looks so lovely.

This is my first valentines layout for 2013.
I had a good luck charm left and i added it to this layout, because this year my
husband and i are together for 10 years ( in March).

For the Greek ladies that were at the crop last week all these embellishments should look familiar..... right?
Yep, i did not finish my mini album and i decided today that i would use all the lovely embellishments for this layout because it fits perfect with this paper.

A big thanks to Katerina for arranging the crop, it was so nice to see all you lovely ladies.
And also a big thanks to all you lovely ladies that i received a present from!!

For this layout i used jack & jill paper from prima marketing, they are so cute!

This layout will also be my entry for the "Swirls and twirls"challenge on flying unicorn.
I used 4 types of swirls:
Stamped,
Chipboard,
Bling bling
and my swirls circle of this tutorial.

I hope you liked my tutorial, it is so simple and inexpensive!

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday,

Channa

Winter Memories...

Good evening all,

Finally found some time to make some layouts!!
I am playing around with our new camera, i am still learning. The weather was not great today here in greece, it was raining most of the day. So i had to make the pictures in side.

This layout is for Flying Unicorn for the "winter wonderland challenge"

I used paper from bo bunny and the flowers are from manor house that i got from the lovely Marivic.

In the picture is Larissa, i believe it is a picture from last year but my husband and mother told me that it is snowing like crazy in Holland.

The challenge was to make a winter layout and to add something unexpected.... i added the red polka dot ribbon as the rest of the layout is  blue, brown and gray.

I made snow with 3d liner and i punched out some snow flakes.

I am also entering this layout for Scrapfit:

Have a good evening and thanks for dropping by!

Happy New Year!

Good evening all,

I wish you all a Happy, Healthy, Creative and Loving 2013!
May all your wishes come true and much much more.....

All the festivities have ended and it is time to start a new year.
Today at Get creative we will have a new challenge and guess what???
The challenge is to make a " Happy New Year card"

This was my take:

I wove a wreath of ribbon and added an old Christmas ornament that i bought a few year ago at Ikea underneath.  I finished it off with a bow and a little 2013 charm.

I made several cards in the same style for Christmas and New years, below are a few samples.

I wish you a lot of creativity this year.
At Get creative there will be lots of lovely card and layout challenges this year so
Good luck to you all.
