Frosted designs: Friday challenge: "my favorite things"

Good afternoon all,
It is friday, and it is time for the friday challenge at Frosted designs.
This time the challenge is hosted by Katie Hollister and her challenge is:

A song from the movie "the sound of music" called my favorite things.
This is the song:

Raindrops on ROSES and whiskers on kittens,

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen MITTENS;
BROWN PAPER  packages tied up with STRINGS;
These are a few of my favorite things.

CREAM-COLORED ponies and crisp APPLE strudels;
Doorbells and sleigh BELLS and schnitzel with noodles;
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their WINGS;
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with BLUE SATIN sashes;
SNOWFLAKES that stay on my nose and eyelashes;
SILVER-WHITE winters that melt into springs;
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites,When the bee stings,

When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my FAVORITE things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
So the challenge this time is to use any combination of these words as part of your layout or project, at least 3 must be used.I have underlined 12 words since it is the 12th month of the year. For example, the color cream, Angel 'wings' and roses. I can already think of some yummy combinations!! Have fun and we can't wait to see what you create!
This is my take on the challenge:

I used the following words
from the song:

Brown paper (behind the
WISH tag)

Strings

Bells

&

Snowflakes

Thank you for passing by, have a great weekend!

Frosted designs: Angelic giftbox

 Hello everybody,

With the spirit of the holidays in my mind, i created this altered matchbox.
I am using this as a gift box for under the tree for christmas.
I really love shabby chic, its always very romantic and angelic.

This is the front of the box:

And this is the back:

I used paper of the Delight 6 x 6 paper pad of prima marketing.
Below are some close ups of all the tinny details that i have put on this box.

The only thing that i need to figure out is what gift to put in the box?
Any ideas?
I believe the box is a gift on it's own!

It's great to create your own gifts, packing and cards for the holidays, it gives  the extra personal touch.
Thank you all for stopping by and have a great day!

Scrapafrica: Snowflakes, Glitter and masking!

Good morning all,

For the next two weeks we have the following challenge at Scrap africa:

Snowflakes, Glitter and Masking!

This is my take on the challenge:

Lots of layers in this layout. I used a winter picture of my friend roan from last year.
As in Greece, there is not much snow where i live!

So how did i use all the challenge items:

Snowflakes: on the design paper, i used a snowflake diecut and added them all around the canvas and i ussed chipboard snowflakes.

Glitter: i used silver glitter on every part of the layout.

Masking: i used a mask of on the design paper and canvas paper and after i sprayed blue/turquoise spray ink.

It was great to make this layout because i love these winter blue colors.

thank you all for stopping by and dont forget to hop over to Scrap africa for some inspiration and to add your layout or project!!!

First 5 random facts about me:
1. I love wearing layers of clothes and boots, that's why i love the winter.
2. Me and plants are no friends. so no green hands.
3. Sky-diving and bunjee jumping are still on my to do list.
4. I fear cockroaches but i am always the one catching them.
5.Ironing is not my favorite household job.

So here is my layout:

I used a picture of my husband when he was just a little boy, so cute.
Paper used is from Fabscraps i love this collection.

As a background i used a mask and dylusion sprays and added
some embossing powder to create a little bit of texture.
I used the same powder on the clouds.

Scrap africa: Resisting challenge

Good evening all,

Two posts on one day?

Yep, now it's time to have a look at the "resisting"challenge of my dt colleague Elena Smoktunova at Scrap Africa.

The challenge today is all about resisting, whether you use embossing, crayons, glue, gesso or any medium that resists paint, inks etc.

This is my take on the challenge, i made a card this time with embossing resist and distress ink.

I used a stamp of boofie!!
I love to use this stamp for baby cards because it is so cute.

Some roses from my stash, i always take white flowers as you  can use your sprays to color them in any color you want. I used "london blue dylusion ink"'

Have a look at the SCRAP AFRICA BLOG, my fellow dt members have made some
 beautiful creations for your inspiration.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great evening,
Channa

Get creative : My embossing challenge!!!

Good morning everyone
time for our 8th card challenge

Today

Channa (moi!)

is setting your card challenge

your challenge is:

Embossing
There are many options with embossing.
Wet?
Dry?
 Double embossing?
Use your imagination and use embossing on your card.
 I have made three different options
 but I am sure that there are more options possible.

Here are my cards to give you some inspiration:

Dry embossing, use it as a background on a card
and create layers :

This card is double dry embossed with an embossing folder and square nestabilities folder so you get an empty space:

With this card i used a stencil, added watermark ink to get the image of the stencil. After i added black thick embossing powder to get the image. It did not get all the embossing powder, but you dont always have to be neat. It gives a nice texture on your card:

Also the background is tissue paper that i took from my spray box. Every time i use any of my sprays i place it in a box with some tissue paper. If you re-use the tissue paper all you colors get mixed up and make a great background.

This is my prize:

We have a lovely sketch for the next two weeks .

Fall has also arrived in Athens, Greece ( and i love it!)
It's better to craft when it is raining outside and you don't have to feel guilty
staying in because the sun is shining.

Here is my take on the sketch:

This is the sketch:

The papers and flowers just fit perfectly with the picture. Soft tone colors, layers of diferent papers, lace, and of course lots and lots of flowers.

My texture is created with Gesso, Modelling paste and sand.
