Vintage with Scrap Africa!

Good morning all,

A new start of the week and at Scrap Africa we bring you a new challenge!

Vintage, create a card, layout or OTP project.

I made a vintage jewelry box on order for one of my customers and i thought it would be
perfect for this challenge.

I used paper from Graphic 45, which has the vintage flair.
The color scheme was peachy orange, and cream white.

I also decorated the inside of the box, it was empty but i added the mirror and flower cluster at the bottom.

Well you all know the drill, you have two weeks to add your project to the Scrap Africa Blog
Have a look at the site to get your inspiration, lots of talented ladies on this team from all countries all over the world.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!

Scrap africa: Chipboard with a twist

Good morning all,

Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day!

This saturday at Scrap Africa we have a great challenge for you:

Chipboard with a Difference -
Challenge is to use chipboard on your projects, but not just plain,
it must be altered with paints, or embossing etc.

This is my take on the challenge, a valentines situation without using the usual love colors:

A heartshaped box, there are so many tinny details on this box. I would have to post a
book of pictures to show them all to you.

And a matching card:

On both i have used chipboard of Wycinanka. Very easy to use and on both i have used several layers of Frantage embossing enamel. I love this stuff, it gives such a nice effect.

Close up on the box:

Close up on the card.

I have used two different colors of powder gold and aged scarlet.

So pretty, i can look at it for hours. It always takes me hours to get a result, but on the ones i spent the most time, and start without any idea it always comes out the best.

Have a look at Scrap Africa for some inspiration and add your work to our blog.
Thank you for passing by and have a great weekend!!

Let's go gelato!

Good Morning all,

It's Channa here, and i want to share with you my Gelato madness.
I made this altered mixed media canvas using the 4 pack Gelato Tropical pack.
It's a combination of 4 tropical colors that are easy to use on any of your projects.

So i started with embossing some stamps on my canvas, just randomly in no particular order.
After i added all the gelato colors and spread them out with a touch of water.
Because the gelatos are waterbased it spread out perfectly on a canvas.
As it was a mixed media canvas i just went crazy, i added stamps, doillies,
stencils....all that was in arms reach and this is the ending product.

The love sign and heart come from the Polka dot party veneer shapes, adding molding paste to get the texture and after it dried out i added some gelatos and stamps.
Below you can see some close ups :

The poem scattered around is from the 14th century Sufi Persian Poet Hafiz:

I thought it was a pretty poem!
It was a pleasure making this canvas, and i love mixed media
because you can never go wrong.

Thank you for passing by and have a great day,

Polka dots: Frosted Designs

Good afternoon all,

TGI!!!
At Frosted designs we have a new challenge for you:

POLKA DOTS

This is my take on the challenge:

I made this shadow box for our landlady, she gave birth to a Baby girl in December.
I covered a square canvas with a sheet of the fabscraps shabbylicious paper, from there on layered the different pieces and embellishments.

The polka dots can be found in different places, as you can see on the pictures.

On the picture below you can see the depth a little bit.

Hop over to Frosted designs to see some inspiration from my fellow dt girls.
I wish you all a great weekend and thank you for passing by!

Frosted designs: Angelic giftbox

 Hello everybody,

With the spirit of the holidays in my mind, i created this altered matchbox.
I am using this as a gift box for under the tree for christmas.
I really love shabby chic, its always very romantic and angelic.

This is the front of the box:

And this is the back:

I used paper of the Delight 6 x 6 paper pad of prima marketing.
Below are some close ups of all the tinny details that i have put on this box.

The only thing that i need to figure out is what gift to put in the box?
Any ideas?
I believe the box is a gift on it's own!

It's great to create your own gifts, packing and cards for the holidays, it gives  the extra personal touch.
Thank you all for stopping by and have a great day!

Frosted designs: Chipboard!

Good evening all,

Here is my inspiration for the Frosted designs challenge:

CHIPBOARD!!

I don't think that this is a hard challenge, we all have chipboard in our stash so
get it out and let us see what you can create.
Stamp it, emboss it, spray it.... there are too many options

This is my creation for this challenge.

It is a altered box.
I first painted the butterfly chipboard with gesso, stamped it and added white foam on the edges.
The wings are sprayed and after i used pearled  gloss on the edges.

Just a pretty little box!

Thank you for stopping by,

Frosted designs: Ribbon, Twine & Washi tape

Good afternoon again,

Today is my day to give you some inspiration for the Frosted Designs Challenge:

Ribbon, Twine & Washi tape
Use at least 2 of the above.

My take:

I altered a book box, and i used all three products.

Ribbon: on the right side to close the box
Twine: at the door lock
Washi tape: Light blue tape on the top and bottom of
the front and the little fairies on the side of the box.

Paper is from the little fairy collection of Prima marketing.
Chipboard is from Sfragidomania. I added frantage embossing enamel on the chipboard. Unfortunatly you are not able to see on the pictures the beautiful look the frantage gives.

Above you can see a little close up of the cluster in the front.
Below you are able to see the washi tape, the blue pieces of tape are hard to find on the front.
But they are there.

So off you go and create, have a look at the

For some lovely inspiration of all the talented designers.

Thank you all for passing by!
Have a great sunday.
