Let's get away...

Good afternoon all, 

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! 

I just did all my weekend shopping so it's time to get back to my craftroom. 

About 5 years ago i got married, in the boiling heat at the end of July. 

It was the hottest day of the summer and after that we went on a short honeymoon to Lefkada in Greece. 

I was strolling trough some pictures and i found this picture of  one of the beaches. 

To be honest with you i am not a beach person what so ever, it's nice to stay for an hour or so but that is more than enough for me. But I live in a country full of beautifull beaches and get away locations.....

And it is very very beautiful, there for i used this picture:

Scrap around the world ( moodboard)

The crafty scrapper - use a punch or die ( i used a punch on the light grey chevron on the right)

Inspired by the beach, the sand, sun and turquoise waters i made this canvas. 

The natural beauty makes it so easy to wander away and to forget everything just... for a little bit. 

I used the colors of the pictures a little bit, but also some bright and bold colors. 

Below you can see some detail close ups.

All the cards, cut outs and tabs etc are from a free printable of Studio Calico. 

I wanted to use it for my project life binder but it was so nice to use it on this canvas.

I am cute and .......

Good evening all, 

Tonight i will share with you a layout i made for Umwowstudio.

This is the Umwowstudio January Sketch:

and this is my take on the sketch:

I used the layered clouds from Umwowstudio. 

I added some gesso and some dylusion ink to alter the clouds. 

Around the edges i used a black marker. 

 

Below are some details pictures of my layout. I used some printable project life cards in order to make the 8 squares. As you can see my model again today is little cute vince. 

I made the blue brick wall with a mixture of molding paste, gesso and dylusion ink and a brick stencil.

Polka dots: Frosted Designs

Good afternoon all, 

TGI!!! 

At Frosted designs we have a new challenge for you:

POLKA DOTS

This is my take on the challenge:

I made this shadow box for our landlady, she gave birth to a Baby girl in December.

I covered a square canvas with a sheet of the fabscraps shabbylicious paper, from there on layered the different pieces and embellishments.

The polka dots can be found in different places, as you can see on the pictures. 

On the picture below you can see the depth a little bit.

Cherish 2014

Good Morning all, 

My one word for 2014 will be :

cher·ish  (chrsh)

1. To treat with affection and tenderness; hold dear: cherish one's family; fine rugs that are cherished by their owners.

2. To keep fondly in mind; entertain: cherish a memory. See Synonyms at appreciate.

Cherish the moments, 

Cherish yourself,

Cherish the people around you, 

and so on......

Most of the times we take everything for granted 
and dont take a moment 

to appreciate who and what we have in our lives.
Let's be thankfull for what we have and 
what will come and cherish it!!

So that is my word for 2014!

I am entering this layout in a few challenges ( see below) but for one i have to catch the deadline:

I want to enter in for Let's Get sketchy - cover girl issue 2. 

I was wanting to make this layout for the last few days, but too many things 

came in between and i left it for the last minute. 

The LO is finished but it's dark outside so i am not able to take some nice pictures.

So here are the revised pictures.... guess what it is raining outside so no sun.
But they are better than the ones from last night. 

This layout is made based on this sketch:

As you can see this layout is bright and colorful, and that's how i want 2014 to be.

Scrap Africa: Recycling

Good morning all, 

It's the 15th of the month and that means a new challenge at Scrap Africa:

RECYCLING

use at least one recycled item on your project.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I recycled two items on this layout.

#1 : a lollypop stick 

#2 a clothing tag from the hard rock cafe

This is what the tag looked like before:

The little model for this layout is Vince. Such a cutie pie, born in July 2013 and we saw him now at christmas time in the Netherlands. Time just flies!

This paper line from graphic 45 is just perfect for baby layouts and cards. I love it!!

Frosted designs: Spotlight

Good morning all, 

Hello all, it's Channa here to share some Frosted designs inspiration today!

I made a layout using 3 similiar colors of dylusions ink, all between pink and purple. 

Dylusions ink used:

Funky Fuchsia

Crushed grape

After midnight

I sprayed each ink on the stencil very close to eachother so it looks like a rainbow effect.  Besided just spraying the ink in three others ways.

1. the rain drop effect: letting it drip  to the sides

2. splashing it on the page. 

3. using the lid of the dylusion bottle to create the little circles. 

In the close ups you can see all the different effects. 

The little lady in the pictures is Larissa, we bought here this jacket for christmas and as you can see

she was very excited to wear it the next day.
