Scrap Africa; Cardstock only!

Good Morning all,

It's friday and that means a new challenge at Scrap Africa.

The challenge is to use CARDSTOCK only!
No patterned paper can be used.

This is my take on the challenge:

I have used 4 different colors of cardstock:
White
Gray
Red
Black

Yes, i have used this picture before but i wanted to use it again with other colors!
It's me and my little friend ava, having fun in the mall.

The only items non cardstock are:
Chipboard letters
Buttons
and roses.

I first added the brick mask on the gray paper with modeling paste and a graffiti stamp.
On the red layer i sprayed on a chicken wire mask.
On the black and red layer i added gesso on the edges and a scallop punch.
On the picture below you can see the layers.

The rosettes and Bicycles are die cuts from the same paper.

As you can see patterned paper is not always needed in our layouts. There are so many options on how you can treat cardstock, stamp, gesso, modeling paste, mists .......
So use your stash and enter your project on the Scrap Africa Blog and pass by the blog to see what the lovely ladies have created because it is gorgeous!!!

Thank you for passing by and have a great weekend!

Get creative: Envelope card

Good afternoon all,

I hope you are having a good day!
It;s the 5th of March and that means a new challenge at Get creative.

This is my take:

The challenge is to make a card with an envelope on it....i made it in to an envelope card.
I guess you have to use your imagination with this challenge.....

I used 1 scrap book sheet (30cm/30cm) for this card.

The hippo's are colored with copic markers, lace to the sides of the envelope and the flowers.

I added a card in the envelope, just a single one made of kraft paper.

I wanted a flower that matched the paper..........but i did not have one, so i sprayed the middle
flower with dylusion spray.

Here is a close up of the little hippo, cute right?

So hop over to Get Creative if you need some inspiration and to upload
your card.

Thank you and have a nice evening!

Frosted designs: Chevron with little diva

Good morning all,

I hope you are all enjoying your sunday morning?
It's the beginning of March and that means another challenge at Frosted designs
Things have changed a little bit: We still have 2 challenges a month but our dt team will spread there inspirational layouts over 3 days instead of putting it all out on the first day.
My day is sunday and this is my Layout:

The challenge is use Chevrons on your layout.

As you can see this is a very bright layout with all the colors jumping at you.
I made the chevrons with the back and front on this paper.

I layered it up and added the chevrons on each corner of the page.
It was a fun layout to make of my little diva friend Danique!

So you have two weeks to create your craft project. Hope over to Frosted designs, and see what all the lovely ladies have created for your inspiration.

Have a good sunday!
Enjoy, Channa

Scrap Africa Sketch #15

Hello all,

I hope you are having a good day? It's the 1st of March so in Greece
we say: Kalo Mina = Have a good month.
It also means a new sketch at Scrap Africa, our dt team have made many projects for your inspiration.

This is my take on the sketch:

The Sketch #15:

I used a picture of my little friend Natalia.
We were having lunch in Ikea ( no meat balls!) and i had my camera with me. The best way to play with a dslr camera is with kids, and she was in a good mood so it was all smiles.
Instead of cutting the picture round i added a doillie and cut the middle out, i added liquid pearls and butterflies around the picture so the picture would come out.

Paper is from the little miss collection of Bo Bunny.
Perfect for this little missy!

A close up off the birdcages and butterflies.

And here is the bird that belongs in the cage.......

So you have two weeks to add your project to the site.
It can be a card, layout or altered project as long as you keep the sketch in mind.
Hop over to :

for some  inspiration and play along.

I wish you a great weekend and thank you for stopping by,
