I am happy...... Round 2!

Good afternoon all,

I made it trough round 2 of the supreme scrap tournament so off
i went to the next challenge for the scrap and card diva's.

the Scrap challenge:

Scrap Challenge:
Make a monochromatic colour layout

1. Pages : 2 pages Layout (double page!)
2. Theme: You can choose your own theme
3. Colour LO: The monochromatic color scheme you use is up to you
4. How many Photos: Minimum of 1 photo
5. Photos: One photo (must be partly on the left and partly on the right page)
- One photo needs to be black and white
6. Not to be used: You are restricted from using black anywhere on the layout including, pen lines, journaling or any other element.
There is not to be black on the page with the exception of your black and white photos.
You cannot use brown to antique elements unless brown is the colour you choose for your monochromatic colour scheme.
7. Materials you may use: embellishments, inkt, media stuff, everything what you want in a monochromatic colour.

Definition of the word MONOCHROMATIC:
Monochromatic color schemes are derived from a single base hue, and extended using its shades, tones and tints (that is, a hue modified by the addition of black, gray (black + white) and white. As a result, the energy is more subtle and peaceful due to a lack of contrast of hue.
and ofcourse the word is Greek!

This is my take :

I  chose the color purple and i took some pictures of Little Natalia. All pictures are black and white, except both pictures at the end i left the color purple of her sweater.
I used  2 x 24cm by 30cm canvas. As a guideline for  myself  i took this color scheme:

and trust me it was not easy!

Card Challenge:

Card: Monochromatic in 3D

1. Theme: You can choose your own theme
2. Colour Card: The monochromatic color scheme for your card is up to you
3. Card dimension: Free
4. You must use: The card has to have 3D elements. This can be a stepper card, a 3D dimension when opening the card (like pop-up elements)
5. You cannot use: You are restricted from using black anywhere on the card including, pen lines, journaling or any other element.
- There is not to be black on the card.
- You cannot use brown to antique elements unless brown is the colour you choose for your monochromatic colour scheme.
- You are not allowed to use cutting machines.
6. You can use : Use any store bought or homemade embellishments that are in your colour scheme
You are allowed to make your own as long as you don't use a cutting machine to make them. Only scissors are allowed for these cut elements.

The whole card is completely WHITE! I used more than 4 sheets of a4 paper.
The sun is coming out here in Greece and i believe winter is slipping away to make room for spring.
So it was not easy making pictures.
The front of the card has 6 layers and on the inside it has several on some spots 4 layers.

Outside is:

White lace,  chipboard from wycinanka and added white embossing powder,2 x white doilies, 1 chipboard from wycinanka and added white embossing powder to make it white, white angel from prima marketing,  white lace, white paper banner ( embossing folder) white ribbon,  flowers all painted white.

Inside is:
white layours of embossed papers, 2 white buttons and a white pearl heart on the 'You" sign.

I am also entering this card for sketch #93 at Card abilities. Without knowing it i used their sketch:

With this song in my mind i made this layout!!
I just love it.......and when you whatch the 24hour version you just get happier...

I want to thank all the ladies that voted for me in round 1!!!
Thank you all for stopping by and good luck to all that are joining me in this tournament.
Have a good evening,
Channa

  1. Channa, your choice of purple was a difficult one (very few people opted for purple), but you managed to make a stunning page! Your card is elegant and classy, too! Well done!
    Good luck!
